BET has come up with a program that is long over due.
“106 & Park Presents: Generation Gospel” kicked off today at noon and features gospel video countdown hosted by Angel Taylor (Tri-ni-tee 5:7) and Jorel Quinn (21:03).
The format is similar to BET’s popular show 106 & Park (thus the name) and will feature weekly news, lifestyle and underground segments from across the country by some of today’s favorite gospel artists and show correspondents.
I enjoyed what I saw of the show, it featured lots of gospel tunes that will keep you praising and moving your feet. I am excited to see more of it.
A quick video cameo was featured by Da T.R.U.T.H. and you can watch it below. If you are not familiar with gospel music or are used to traditional old school gospel, you just may be surprised by this show.

I missed this. Didn’t even know it was coming on. I really don’t tune in to BET anymore.
I have to make sure to look out for this show.

Hey there Shae-Shae!
I hope that B.E.T. does not think that just because they launched a Gospel show that we will not stay on them about the degrading images of black women that they CONTINUE TO show!

I agree it is long overdue, but it may just be a little too late to recapture their audience…I mean I can’t tell you the last time I tuned in

@Sharon: I can’t speak for anyone else, but I enjoyed it.
@Lisa: Hello there.
I believe BET is trying to capture the 106 & Park audience since that’s their #1 show right now. I guess they feel if they can get some of that demographic they will come up with a hit. IMO they really didn’t need to put ‘106 & Park’ presents. It’s a marketing ploy.
@Da Vinci: It is definitely too late. I remember Teen Summit was a big hit for the channel. They should have targeted the teen gospel loving audience then.
@Timm: It’s a weekly show, tune in next Sunday.

I think it is a great show. BET needs to be sructured more like NBC,CBS,FOX, even the cw would be a step up. Evening news is a must also.
and BET is no more at shame than MTV or FUSE or any entertainment channel for that matter.
The image of BET has been degraded by the media and nothing more.
BET bleeps out words like ([content edited by Administrator] and many others) even when they do not pertain to the subject matter in many people’s mind. Although these words are not beeped by any of the networks above. The N-word is constantly used on other networks, but non of their advertising has been pulled

I agree that this is a good show. BET should have gone back to it’s old structure years ago.

I wish they could put rediffusion of this show because I’m at church during that time. And they always put the same movies on sunday evening so that could be the perfect time for the rediffusion of 106 & park gospel generation.

That would be a great suggestion for BET. Maybe their sight has a comment section for this show. Everything else on BET is rerun so rerunning this program shouldn’t be an issue.
